Re: How suitable is my Exotic Garden Plot?

Here's the view from an upstairs window (above the terrace where we sit out in the Summer) IMG_5378-82_EndJuly2009.jpg The two main trees to be removed are indicated, and the arrow for the "entrance". The cedar on the left is the one I would like to keep. This picture is looking towards the West (fr...

Re: How suitable is my Exotic Garden Plot?

On this "detail" plan I've indicated the trees as-if removed, and: 1 = Laburnham. Its not very big, not terribly grand, and I could take that out. Hello from Kristen :)

I've been gardening since my teens, now mid 50's. Got a large garden, but Suffolk is flat (well, undulating to me, flat to anyone who has real hills), and we don't have much in the way of trees - only fields stretching out in all directions. We've been here 5 years, and made a start on the garden. I...

Re: Cannas from seed advice

I grew some from seed last year. Two varieties, 6 seeds each. There was an episode of Gardeners World in September which said to sow them and they would flower in the first year, but they would need a growing light to keep them going through the winter. They weren't kidding about that "first year" b...
