Re: Weekend Weather Warning 8th/9th Feb 2014

I'd say tomorrow night it will be reliably positioned. Strong winds for Manchester of course, around 50-60mph gusts should this verify. Weather forecast this morning said 70-80mph up your way and 50-60mph on South coast :( BBC revised what they were saying to 100 mph this morning ... :( hopefully t...

Re: The (100 PLANT) Ricinus Jungle! (Updated 29 June)

Had a look on the link and its mostly CAD type plans....which look amazing. Shame there didnt seem to be much in the way of planting.....that I could see. Dunno if this direct link into Facebook Album will work, but it should be picture 4, of 149, of the build of the front garden - hard landscape a...

Front garden looks done to me - and is way more effort than I would have put into a front garden ... I expect the rest is being done to a similar standard.

I've also overwintered late sown ones with relative ease. Are they monsters by the time it comes to plant out or manageable? I imagine you get a bigger plant earlier ... although mine seem to get to 8' - 10' in a season without much bother - perhaps I might try with the purple leaved ones as they a...

Re: Measuring the weather/temp

I'm using a Fine Offset weather station - usually sold as "Watson" Maplin have them on offer at £50 at present (or £60 if you want a Black one for some reason) http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/silver-usb-wi ... ster-n96fy The touch-screen is pretty rubbish (I only use it as a base-station to upload to my P...
