there will always be losses this is a tough zone for tropicals but how you bounce back will speak in the garden..now that I am in a place I will be for awhile I should have a better luck each year. soil ammendments and wind breaks to be planted very soon

spring is just starting to arrive..snow has gone and temps are around 16 or 18 by day and around 0 at night. should not be long now. this was the worst winter in 30 years which did not help and I agree adding lights makes them much easier to overwinter. my only point is on the scale of bananas this one is at the top of the difficulty meter for overwintering

I've got loads but have to wait till it warms up to get them out from storage. I just popped 80 so seeds in the dirt that have them as a parent cross as well

don't wish you had one there about the hardest thing I have ever had to overwinter. mine has been in a 60f greenhouse all winter and there both about dead

I think minimum wage is somthin like 7.25 not for sure anymore. I live in a semi poor area so you have really well paying and very low paying not much inbetween. I would say average is somthing about 9.00 usd/hr around here

I had to pay sewage at the old house but the new has a septic so free on that bill now Dunno about states-side??, but this side of the pond mains-connected sewerage is charged based on how much water you use - so use twice as much water, to water your garden, and your sewerage doubles too. I don't understand the problem everyone has with the runners. I let them go wild and free. an unwanted cane pops up I just cut it down. keep an eye out for strangers here and there or step on them when there small shoots to keep them under control

mine went from seedling to 12 ft pole in one season so idk if I should go ahead and cut it back or leave it alone and do it next year

maybe its our heat but I can grow them about anywhere. never tried fully under water but they do grow in the marsh in florida and the south here. I've never heard of one killed from over watering either. I keep them moist at all times as do all the people I know growing them well over here..give the...

after a few mistakes by myself out of the 9 I had 6 germ..I now have 3 still alive. 2 are about 6 inchs and have started to fork at the top the other is comming along. that fresh uk seed I got worked so well
