very cool plants but def not hardy enough for me. possibly grafted onto more hardy root stock it could work over here

I've got a bag full of seed I will start a few in march if there viable I will post some over if you like. when mature the thorns are so much you can't even touch it and the leaf thorns are massive

you all seem to have the type with out thorns..what fun is that? mine did fruit last year but out of say 100 fruit only 3 or 4 got ripe. tasted aweful so I just collected seed

on the phone so can't do the convertion but its around 45 usd a month. somtimes 60 on months I water heavy. should be the same at my new place as its the same company. I had to pay sewage at the old house but the new has a septic so free on that bill now

But I suppose it would be best in really windy places would be to tie up the leaves for as long as you can untill the palm gets to tall. Absolutely not!! The leaves are much less liable to damage if they are free to move with the wind. Tie them up and you make a solid lump that catches the wind and...

I remember watching a show awhile back about when the US was fighting for independence from England. They said in South Carolina people made forts out of Sabal Palmetto's due to there trunk composition. When the cannon balls would hit them they would bounce off and not show any damage..
