I agree 100% with Ade, sorry stephen but 40cm is nothing, Ade has been growing palms for a good while and has lots of experience with lots of different ones, i would listen to what he has to say :D

Hi Fritzler and welcome to the forum :D , i found them very easy to germinate in multi purpose compost with a little bottom heat, I found them easy to grow on outside in summer and on a bright windowcill over winter. however once they got to big for the windowcill i found them very difficult to over...

Hi bobby

In the U.K. it was made illegal to spread Japanese knotweed by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. so I would think it not a wise move, there is a less invasive Knotweed that is a nicer looking plant to, hopefully someone will add the name as it escapes me at the moment :D

Looking really good Frank, we never got round to a dry arid bed here but we will hopefully have one at the new place :D , love the bog bed to it will look fab later on :D

jezza its the risk you take with smaller palms, they do not have the bulk to take extreme cold without good protection. If you go to the Amulree meet check out Simons capitata's, they are sourced from Nigel and are good plants at a reasonable price (specialy with the discount :D ) I had one of Nigel...
