Re: Nuts about Jungles - The Blog

Superb garden in a compact space. I am moving to a smallish garden and this gives me some real inspiration. I like the all season back bone combined with seasonal interest. Brilliant, well done! icon_thumright

Re: Bismarckia Nobilis

I think it's more to do with the humidity and the longevity of the frost. In the UK, you stand no chance of overwintering one outside.

I've planted borders in my greenhouse. I will post some pics later. It's a mess ATM.

Same here. I looked thought the old threads and couldn't find it. Definitely someone on here who had one. Either way, how on EARTH do you keep these butters going? I'd love to have one...

Post it with less compression and maybe cropped to the window to keep the size down.

Re: Bismarckia Nobilis

I love these palms, but never again! I just can't grow them even in my conservatory. Someone on here has a beautiful one in their conservatory. (is it Adrian?). I'd love to see the pic again.

I might be tempted when I move and build my mini biome, but until then... icon_thumbdown

Off Topic, but having been away for a while, I didn't realise Mark and Gaz had such a brilliant website. Well marketed and designed. Hats off to them!

Re: Olive trees in Tesco

I have 2 standard Olive trees and they survive every winter, no problem.

Nice a easy to look after, I just give them a trim in the spring.

Re: Dreaded Canna virus

Where did you get them? Are Hart Cannas currently virus free? I'd given up with cannas, but if Hart sell clean specimens I might try a few.

Where exactly are you countrylover? I would imagine being on the continent the springs are warmer, sooner.

That's funny, I call them June Bugs, or even July bugs. Are they all one and the same?

Re: Black Bamboo Struggling

My Phyllostachys Vivax was planted 5 years ago and it is only in the last two years that it has regularly produced decent culms. The rate seems to accelerate year on year. I'm never sure how much to feed and water bamboo. At Hardy Bamboo Paul claims to leave his boos to their own devices, and he has...
