I am at a complete loss people look in but do not post.
On another subject I had a message from Kata on another forum asking to be remembered to every one on HT. She is unable to do much gardening any more due to rheumatism. She now has a gardener! Advancing age catches up with us all.

The Best of... A discussion thread
Hi Chad, I have been off the grid since a couple of days after you started this post but looked in this morning only to find you had no replies. I was honestly appalled. I know half a dozen of us have been trying to keep the forum going but even they did not respond! I did not want you to feel lonel...

Conservatory replacement causing overwintering issues
Dave your job looks as if it is coming along well and hopefully you will be in the dry soon. Interesting that you decided to go for a fiberglass roof as did I. I did speak to Karl before I started mine so I know he is not that keen on fiberglass as he has had to replace some failed fiberglass rooves...

Arundo donax
It would appear Arundo Donax likes Shropshire, I was looking to grow some around 10 years ago but eventually decided against it as I prefer something evergreen. However I did go as far as looking for a nursery to buy some from as there was none in Wales. I found a nursery on the Shropshire side of O...

Conservatory replacement causing overwintering issues
Dave yours now seems to be going well now. Yes glass is very heavy, people in Wales kept telling me it would take 4 men to lift mine, which I didn't mind paying for. I think they used it as an excuse because it was to much trouble for them. Charlie, have you never heard of a rain coat especially in ...

Conservatory replacement causing overwintering issues
Funny how something that is perceived to be as simple as a conservatory is causing us some problems! You think you have problems listen to mine! I am calling my project a garden room, not to be posh or trendy but simply because is has a proper flat roof and a couple of solid walls so that it can be ...

That is odd I can grow CIDPs. I suspect it may be the Washingtonian dry out on the sand. Although I have dug them up from a beach in the Canaries.Dave Brown wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:07 am Phoenix canariensis_CIDP is not hardy here, lost SO many over the years, including my Southsea harvested ones.

I am amazed you can grow washies were you live, they just don't thrive here, despite it being warmer than were you live I'm not sure if its the wind or sand they don't like. Just out of interest can you grow CIDPs.

Welcome Dave, times have certainly changed since then. Chez you should try another visit it has matured somewhat since you went! I like to pay visit to Treseeders nursery if I'm down that way, well worth a look.
