Chad, how many new leaves a year do you expect to get on an established tree fern just out of interest? Jas.

Brahea edulis

I'm not sure about edulis, but mine also is supposed to be very wind resistant which is useful were I live on the coast. I also know it should grow in North Wales as some one else is growing one. icon_thumright

Brahea edulis

I recently bought a Brahea Armata which has similar hardness, but I prefer the blue colour. I bought mine from eBay. I recommend planting in full sun in free draining...

Plants I would not be with out. Acacia baileyana (purple form). The most beautiful tree for flowering in the winter with the advantage of purple leaves in the growing season. I have had rain and howling wind for weeks, as have the rest of you, Apart from the fence blowing down 3 times, due to be ch...

To mound up or not to mound up, that is the question

MB, as you live in Telford I would plant the Jubaea outside, as I think they are slightly more hardy also the ultimate size is bigger, if you are young enough to watch it grow. Also do you intend to move house in the future? If so plant the other one out. icon_thumleft
