Re: Ensete ventricosum green form - pupping!?
You may recall the 'My Ensete dosen't like this spring' topic. It got a bit lost in the middle going a bit off that topic, so I'm putting the sequence together here. In April 2008 my Ensete ventricosum, the starting 3rd year, small leaved one, started to wilt markedly. So I emptied it out of the po...

Re: Should I cover my protea from rain

Re: Brians Botanical anyone dealt with them?
To broaden this out a bit, I think there is a problem with the internet in general; we can't tell from the site if we are looking at the site of a multinational, or an almost obsessional grower with only one of everything listed. As purchasers we tend to assume that if the web site is big and all i...

Re: Brians Botanical anyone dealt with them?
Mark, Big Concern is a relative thing. He has the most enormous stock range, but often only one or two of each. Until recently I think he was a 'one man band' of extraordinary expertise and presence. I let him know what was being asked over here, and got this reply; Hey Chad thanks for letting me k...

Re: Brians Botanical anyone dealt with them?
My last lot of wooden kitchen spoons only took a few days. I suppose it must depend on whereabouts in the U.S they are posted from. It also pays to ask for a tracking number and then you can see where it is on its journey. I tracked my Ta Nee all the way from Thailand to coventry and then to windso...

Re: Brians Botanical anyone dealt with them?
NBD, It all depends on what mail you use. Priority mail takes 5-7 days usually and dealing with live plants its best to go for the quickest option rather than the cheapest. Thailand & Malaysia take 4 -6 days too. Parcelforce ;Coventry to Ipswich 2 weeks plus :x Hi Mark Priority is the method I ...

Re: Brians Botanical anyone dealt with them?
I've dealt with BB on several occasions but never through Ebay and although they shipped very quickly and without any paperwork when I ordered direct from their website, the additional questions I sent them were not answered until several weeks after I received the plants. The last order I made ove...

Brians Botanical anyone dealt with them?
A couple of weeks ago I bought some plants on Ebay, paid by Paypal ,a week later got another invoice for $10 but no explanation what it was for. I emailed them saying I had paid the extra $10 but what was it for ....no reply. A week after ordering the plants I asked how long delivery was and would th...

My moso is so slow can I speed it up?
My Moso bamboo is slow to reach any sort of height after 5 years or so it is about 5' high although the clump has expanded. It's on a raised bed and fed and watered regularly but not much seems to make it move.

Re: Kick Starting Bananas
My mum and I have a couple of Maurelli that just refuse to start growing. The bases are hard but I see no sign of life. I can't really see how the leaves are going to unfurl due to the old crusty brown leaf bases. Should I peel back the old leaf bases? I want to get mums going soon, so she keeps th...

Re: Flowering non forking Brugs
Look closely, and it has forked. There is a lot of rubbish written about forking in Brugmansia on internet sites. The flower bud is made from the terminal bud, so once there is a flower bud, further growth has to come from behind it. It usually does this from two shoots, hence the fork. The fork is...
