Dave does this mean that we are only really concerned with dew point if it is at or below freezing point?

Hi John, I've read that the variegated form is less hardy than the green - any idea if this is true or not?

As I understand it Lucien, dew point is the temperature at which moisture in the air condenses on solid surfaces - forming dew.

The more moisture in the air, the lower the temperature needs to be for it to condense.

Hope this is not tosh.

I'd like to echo Palmer's sentiments Alexander. Your posts are always a good read.

Well it won't get too much heat in my cabinet - it's a home made effort using soil cables. Just adds a few degrees to keep the frost off. A great help though.

I've put mine in the greenhouse for the winter now PB. I may even try to squeeze it into a heated cabinet.

Hopefully it's just a slow starter.

I have been very disappointed with one I bought early this summer. It has only put on a couple of modest sized leaves, which went purple a few weeks ago.

Maybe next year...

I spread them on the lawn, shred them with the mower, and fill a bulk bag (from builders merchants) if I can.

They are used as mulch next spring, although they don't rot down much over winter.

300 ft! I was thinking about a tall shrub!

I may have not grasped this Eucalyptus business properly.

Mark - Eucalyptus is a good suggestion if I could get one tall enough. Time to get googling.
