Very nice front garden - mine is just a concrete drive way - with a small planting are to one side (as of yet - full of weeds!)

You might be lucky to have a close friend or family member who doesn't look after their garden and let it over grow?? - in return you can give them a good garden and keep a patch to yourself!!!

Its actually ok - still alive!! Brown (basically dead) fronds on all the outer ones- and mostly green in the centre - so should be ok i hope, i messed with the centre spears, and nothing came out of place, seemed very rigid. Again - foolishly didnt protect it as much as i could of. Didn't even wrap ...

South facing is left side. Yes morning sun in summer-ish... I foolishly under protected it. Will try harder next winter.

Not too shallow and not even sure if it will contain real water on purpose, only winter it waterlogged around the far part of the blue area....or may shortcut with bluish pebble stones well below the grass level, not too fond of huge bog plants and have to look at safety of my child too in that area...

They do exist but normally its 2 seeds in the same pot. These trachys in my garden were quite small when I purchased them. They shared a small pot, were sawn apart and planted next to each other. Have you thought about putting perforated drainage pipe in the channels at the bottom of the ditches? It's available fairly cheaply at most builders merchants and I think it would drain better than just gravel which may get silted up. i personally went with augering about five 6inch wide holes with...

I can just imagine it a bit like the below image.....walking into the unknown wild part of the garden..... Is ropes like here in your plan? Might be good for any "bridge" over water...

On a more serious note -the lack of grass is probably more down to it being shaded a lot throughout the day. My garden gets full sun throughout the day, but my next door gets a lot of shade due to fence heights and trees, and his grass suffers more.

So Instead of mowing the grass - do you have to.... hoover it?!
