Have decided that rather than just repair it I would make it bigger. so all the permanent plants have been stuffed one end and ...

15 years growth of Washie Washingtonia
Are you able to give the top any protection these days? or has it got to take its chances?! Mine was doing as well as yours until 2010 when I decided it was big enough to not need protection!!

Absence of flowers
Leonotis will only flower in the UK very very late and really needs to be overwintered under glass to get flowers before it becomes winter again, even on Madeira its only just coming into flower in October. I have tried the snail vine but had no luck with that either. You need to be careful growing ...

Cordyline australis Seeds
Yes they are seeds, but they are not ripe yet, normally they will turn white. If you live near the coast then self sown seedlings can become a nuisance. sown in pots they come up looking like grass but its a few years before they are big and tough enough to over winter outside like mummy!

How long does it take to grow lemon?
Its going to take several years, keep it growing by not allowing it to become heavily pot bound, protect in winter. what the fruit will be like and the quantity produced will be down to genetic luck. If you really want lemons buying a named fruiting form is the way to go

Chez, I am not sure how far away you would notice, ours gets a bit up close and personal! used to grow a lot of the coloured leaved forms but the only one that survives cold winters here is straight P. tenax I find it quite striking rather than beautiful but at least its indestructible! https://live...
