Well a year on and how did they do? The picture below shows and established clump and to the left of it one of the new clones with a flower per bulb. In front a clone with leaves and no flowers. One of the other clones has few leaves and I can't fine the forth clone at all! DSCF6443small.jpg Chad.

Chamaerops humilis is usually dioecious although a sucker may 'change sex'. So unless you have flowers on two plants you are unlikely to get seed set, and it is seed production that tends to significantly slow down vegetative growth.

Whatever, get it planted out into 'real' soil and it will correct itself.

It is usually available somewhere on e-bay.

It was 'the must have' plant a few years ago.

Then for most of us it became a pest!

I think it is more often passed between friends than sold now.
