I've bought some potash on my way back from work, and give all the palms in the ground and in pots a sprinkling and a light water. It was actually a chap i bumped into at akamba who swore by nitrogen but did say stop the nitrogen july time. He was a customer and had been growing tracys for over 30 y...

On newly transplanted palms into the ground is it still best to water daily even though the last few days have seen heavy showers for a few hours at a time?. Is it possible to overwater and do damage.

I don't know if high nitrogen feed will be of any benefit to palms, isn't it more for leafy plants? If you're using it make sure you stop well before the frosts as high nitrogen feed encourages sap in plants and it's sap that freezes and causes the cell walls to rupture. You don't want lots of sap ...

Feeding young tracys nitrogen.

I have several waggys and fortunei/waggys in various pots.I already give them palmbooster, is it ok to give them the high nitrogen feed i give the big ones. thanks karl.

As well as the big ones planted in the ground i've got 4 or 5 waggy's and fortunies in various size pots. What sort of time of year will i need to bring say a waggy with a measurment of 70cm from bottom of trunk to top of tallest leave?. karl.

wrapping tracycarpus.

I know we have plenty of time to decide but do any members stuff hay or straw in the crown area of these palms. 2 have 4.5 ff trunks fortunei, and 1 a 3ft trunk waggy. All in the ground.

Tracycarpus centre spears.

I have a couple of fortunies and a waggy planted in the ground. There all looking healthy and green and having there palmbooster fix :lol: . The main spear on 2 of them is very rigid to touch but on the 3rd one its got a bit of slack in it. Like i say all our very green and all 3 are opening new lea...

A certain person today told me not to put it on newly transplanted palms as until a root system is formed the booster will falsely grow the crown and make the leaves turn yellow and soft!!. Also not to use nitrogen until the palms have bedded in. I thought this was the whole reason to use palmboost...
