BBC forcast, coast temps are the norm here but can't complain as we didn't get the 2 foot of so of snow that fell a mile up the hill. icon_thumleft

Crop failure comes to mind, if I was dependant on the garden for food I would be worried. Not a single flower yet, bamboo only just clumping, bananas moving very slowly, canna not much better than seedlings, colocasia struggling, dahlias not flowering yet with some only just above ground. It doesnt matter how much snow falls if the temperatures on average are higher, especially lower down. The glaciers on NZ are proof of this. They have some of the highest snowfall in the world yet rising temperatures have seen dramatic reduction in the glaciers. What matters is how much snow is lef...

Other than the start of June, no shortage of rain and I don, t think the ground has dried out this year. Everything is growing but slowly due to lack of heat.

I recall B and q 2 years back having an end of season sale, ensete were £1.50 each. Must have had about 30 of them. I guess they stopped stocking them as they were not selling. I guess cheap ensete every summer could be a thing of the past.
