Re: Its Arrived

The new PEACH system has just come out in the last few months. It makes it harder to get plants bought into this country  you can see why some people try to buck the system can't you :D Mark Do you know if the system bucking method works when importing from Thailand, from the States it's reaso...

Re: Its Arrived

Re: Its Arrived

NBD, All you need is the phytosanitary certificate with its additional declaration, which is a vital accompanying piece of paperwork that states exactly that the plant/corm has been checked and complies with certain parts of AnnexIVAI of the plant health directive(2000/29/EC). Most of the thai selle...

Re: Its Arrived

Re: Dixonsia fern

Couldn't agree more about chicken pellets, though I put more than one in the top,it's about a handful or more,if I have enough of them.I do that in Feb which is a lot earlier than people have said it should be done but it works for me

Bismarkia Nobilis

These are reputed to need sun and I suppose they do better with it but mine has just sprouted a new leaf after doing nothing since I bought it back in June.It is on a window sill and hasn't been watered for months. Most of the original leaves have shrivelled but this new leaf took me by surprise,my l...

The banana skin produces sugar which is believed to promote growth,I have been stuffing the blackened skins into the top for ages, can't say it does any good but doesn't do any harm either.Australians are great believerts in using them. The potassium is of no use it's the sugar content that is believe...

Re: Group plant delights order

Plants are specifically excluded from PDs carriers ,they will replace the plants and the freight costs are borne by the person returning the dead plants! The freight costs are not cheap.I have a friend in Louisianna who tells me that PDs reputation is far from good, though occaisionally someone is pl...

Re: Group plant delights order

Something to bear in mind when ordering from the States is the postal delay.Last year I had a shrivelled up consignment from PD ,not their fault entirely ,as their packing leaves a lot to be desired anyway, they are sent out quite dry initially. My problem was the USPS, when sending to Europe, send al...

Re: skunk cabbage

I've got both varieties the cametchensis and the americanum. One is in the pond and one on the side, the white ones on the side flowered about last April I think, they were planted quite deep and took a while to emerge. The yellow one was overshadowed by a huge Arum in the pond and while it survived it ...

Re: Frangipani rotting problem

I actually got it in flower ,with the roots just emerging.I have had them rot from the bottom up before but not from top down.It is kept in the house and I didn't want to increase the risk of further rotting so have let it dry off.It has a fair fat stem left but the roots have stopped growing, even r...
