Hi Moods, I don't pretend to be an expert on these, but I think you bought it to late in the season. The plant expended all its energy growing leaves last year with out being able to put any back due to the lack of roots, and mid September was a bit late to start to grow any. It has run out of puff....

Hi, can you tell us a little more about the plant when you bought it. Did it have fronds last year, did it have roots or was it just a log? how did you protect it over winter and how big is it? Thanks Jas. icon_thumright

Eddie I don't think its that small if it is growing 3 trunks, however is it actually growing 3 trunks or is it separate Trachys planted close together? I am assuming a tree that size is flowering the very small trunk could be a seedling. Mark, have you actually had a poke about at the base to see if...

Like the others I would prune the dead branch off but for a different reason. If there is any infection you don't want it spreading to the rest of the plant! Also it looks a ruddy mess. :lol:
