Re: Hows Your Brugmansia
Indeed, caveat emptor, but there are folk on eBay who sell lots of Brugs - more chance of getting what you expect from them I reckon (than from someone who just sells the odd one).

What I have seen sold as named plants on Ebay haven't always been 100% correct, in fact I wouldn't rely on the name bit at all.Kristen wrote: I reckon named plants on eBay will be around 6 quid ... .

Re: Hows Your Brugmansia
Sounds all right, so long as it is a cutting taken from flowering wood, and not taken from immature wood. Best bet would be to buy one in flower, then you know the wood is mature :) That is the opposite of what I look for. Flowering wood will do just that, and not grow any height. A flowerin...

Re: Hows Your Brugmansia

They do have some more mature brugs there priced at £59.99 if i can remember rightly but don't hold me to that as i was looking at a lot of plants that day so may be getting mixed ...

Re: Hows Your Brugmansia
I can't wait to buy one of these this year from my local GC they sell them at £6 for a round 6 inch (15cm) cuttings. I missed out last year when i went back to get one they had all gone. :-( is £6 a good buy for a 15cm cutting, they had the colors of pink, yellow, white and one that produces half ye...

Re: Hows Your Brugmansia
I thought sanguineas were difficult to root. Mine is in leaf (outside) but hasn't flowered since Dec 2012. If I could root it, perhaps the cutting would flower? And I could discard the hopeless non-flowering mother plant...

Re: Hows Your Brugmansia
I root cut my Brugmansia sanguinea in December, and it's doing well, slow growth, but not much, it should take off nicely in summer.

Re: Hows Your Brugmansia
I just de-leaf them and stick in a glass of water. So have I, often as not get 100% failure rate. Tried Clonex & straight into compost, using 1litre squash bottles. Some aren't dead yet! I'm sure I get better results when the plants are in active leaf growth. Its frustrating. I took my 4 foot c...

I would wait - let someone else worry about keeping it alive, and healthy, in poor light and low temperatures. It will be much easier to overwinter next winter - when it is a year older

Re: Hows Your Brugmansia
Mine are struggling to leaf out, but they're outdoors like Nature intended plants (and humans) to be.
