Agave ID please

Showing my ignorance this my not even be one, but I was given this earlier in the year, since then the new kittens have taken to pulling out plant labels and chewing them up :roll:
It would be nice to have an ID on it again though, cheers

Planting an Agave

At last I've decided where I want to plant my Agave Americana, but after starting to dig I came across the remainder of an old wall. I'm still digging out bits of stone and trying to get a decent sized hole, just how deep do the roots go on Agaves or do they spread out? I'm down just over 1ft.
