Palmbooster info please
I'd heard of palmbooster before but thought it was just another over priced gimmicky fertillizer, however, since joining this site & reading countless praises of this product i thought it was about time i gave it a trial. Where would you recommend purchasing it from (mail order) as not many plac...

Re: Why aren't my Cannas growing?
Looks like i'll be trying to overwinter some in the ground then. Thought they might be too tender in a hard winter for that but obviously not! Thanks for the advice

Why aren't my Cannas growing?
Could somebody help me with my Cannas? I grew some last year & they looked fantastic. I had 4 x Ermine, 4 x Tropicana & 5 x Indica. I treated them as the text books said to. All were overwintered in their pots, most were kept in the greenhouse which did go a little below freezing on some nig...

Re: echium pininana alba (snow tower)
I know Newport shropshire got the record low for England once (something like -27) but i seriously doubt i'd get it here, i live at the top of the severn valley so as cold air is heavier than warm it should, in theory roll down the hill away from me(fingers crossed!)

Re: echium pininana alba (snow tower)
That medio-picta was saved just in time this winter, one evening in our february cold snap i checked on the greenhouse & the white parts of it was just starting to turn black, i quickly brought it into the conservatory & within 24 hours it recovered. it stayed there till mid march, virtually ...

echium pininana alba (snow tower)
Thought i'd show you a picture of my echium pininana alba as i can't seem to find one here. It was grown as an experiment to see wether i could grow one & to see what it looked like. It took 3 years to flower, the one behind lost it's growing point this last winter, hence the many short flowerin...

Re: Welcome to new members
Hello everyone, my first real post, been into tropicals for around 3 years now. Was into regular stuff originally but bit by bit tropicals crept up on me, started with cordylines, then trachys....tree ferns... bananas...more palms...yuccas...agaves...more palms..only problem is-they're all in pots f...

Dicksonia Antartica at Tesco!
Popped into Telford Tesco's today for my beers (24 cans for a tenner-bargain!) & in a crate by the entrance was some 2 foot Dicksonia antarctica for £40. i thought that was a bargain, although i didn't get one as if i get another it has to be a 6 footer. Thought someone might be interested though.
