Yes, you did get a lot of snow last year which lasted for a few days in your area, Luckily in the estuary at sea level it doesn't stay very long, although the tops always look beautiful for some time. I would think you are limited to what you can grow without protection. Keep up the good work. icon...

i have tried these,a couple of times but with same results.for each new leaf,it takes so long to grow that 2 die thus not lasting very long

The opposite is true as they need acidic soil ideally ph 4.5 to 5.5 to thrive.

It just started here and will run through the night. It was nice all day with a slight drizzle..then the temps went from 10C to 0C in about an hour. I am projected to get to around -22c here with wind chills down to -31c by morning..The snow has just started and I am on my way to my unheated job at...

They germinate sporadically over 3 years , I would say a third at least will germinate in 1st year , you usually get a few instant germinations. tell me about it,just had my first germinate after 18 months,fresh from garry at cold plant when i bought them, and for the record,5 out of 55 rotted in that time ,they could have been duffers
