Same here. Ripped tons of the stuff out and left just a few clumps. They get cut back to an inch or two , which keeps them in check. They soon shoot and flower.Delboy wrote:I ripped mine out a few years ago as they were rampant and went a bit leggy.

Great news, I said they would show eventually, Hope my C Carii germinate now. About 9/10 weeks (ish) Rob, the fuzz appeared about 3 weeks ago. ps. Could have sworn the purple one was bought as purple spoon with the unique flowers, and planted in that location, is there a chance it could have reverted? Seem to remember "purple spoon" not being frost hardy. If you did plant it out, perhaps its been lost to one of the odd frosts yo...

I tend to leave them on regardless of condition, as my thinking is that the weight of the fronds helps keep that crown open. So often i've seen crowns with a small, rounded over opening at the top.Dave Brown wrote: but rather than cut the fronds off I would have bent them down so that they could be retained.

I've always managed to get growth on a tuber with the smallest hint of stem but never any luck with a tuber only.jungle jas wrote: I seem to remember seeing someone on the telly cutting the stem down the middle to double up on the tubers, is this fact or was I dreaming.
