Musa Sikkimensis or Musa Cavendishii?

Post by rburrena »

Please could you all take a look at this one for me and let me know which it is? It was my sole success from a bag of mixed banana seeds. I think and I hope it is a Sikkimensis.

Thanks! icon_salut That's what I wanted to hear. Would you mind telling me what the distinguishing features are from the Cavendishii?

A cav is more glaucus and has an overall different appearance. Different markings.

The other main difference is the fact you can't grow them from seed as they're an edible dessert banana. Basically what you buy in the shops are cavendish bananas so the only way you'll end up with a cav is by buying either a tc'ed plant or pup
