Nigel, thanks for posting these pictures. I vaguely remember seeing them in the dim and distant past, it's great to be reminded of what you'd achieved.

Sadly, they were probably replaced by a load of leylandii.rburrena wrote:Why!!? Madness. Some people have no clue. No taste! What a waste.Nigel wrote:the rest was chainsawed by the new owner.

Incredible garden! Make me wonder how you could decide to leave all those beauties behind.

I'm not saying Dave Brown is Obi Wan Kenobi, but I bet he sensed a great disturbance in the force when that chainsaw ripped through.

They were some fine specimens. Shame they are no more for future generations to enjoy.
Re: Photos of my old garden in Bristol
They were lovely, that garden would have made me like the house more, a real selling point a nice garden. Hope new owners did not go all boring and suburban after they had massacred that lot
Re: Photos of my old garden in Bristol
That garden was my pride and joy, it was for life.
Unfortunately I put so much into building my palm business I forgot about other important things and my wife ran off with somebody else.
In retrospect I dont regret that and I am glad she did but I miss my garden.
Maybe it would all be dead now after last winter anyway.
When I am back in the uk in a few weeks I must take a pic to show what the rotters did to my masterpiece
Also look at the Butia pic, isnt it ironic, I had never got any Butia to flower in all those years , and in the moment I had to dig it up,the tip of a flower spathe was tantalisingly rising.
