I've been really lucky here and kept the growing point on mine without any protection,in fact I'm sure it's trying to grow. Lowest it got down to was -8, so pretty normal temperatures for here this year

what do you guys fertilize/feed your T-Rex's with?

Nothing, not fed, not watered, plant them and forget them, theres a lot of other stuff more demanding.

Must admit, I never fed mine in fact can't remember watering it that much either.

yes it did flower and i cut it back slightly (2010), last season it didn't produce the huge leaves as it had in previous years but it flowered in September(2011) again .Hi Kris the Bamboo like shoot is Arundo Donax Versicolor

My large (ish) T-rex seems to have a solid growth point and even the small one (in the ground) looks solid. Fingers crossed

looks great list what did you put over the top of it anything?

when it got bad i put a pop bottle filled with straw over the growing point,
then when it got worse i put a plant fleece over it, held straight like a cover.

after it didn't get better i but an old table cloth over it like a tippee

I have one that was in a pot in a heated greenhouse which looks like its dead I think it might have dehydrated I'm just waiting now to see if it pups or not. I have others though which are fine
