That garden belongs to Mark Everson who used to post on UKOasis as MarkEE. I believe he sometimes posts on GOTE now.

Wouldn't it be easier to get a Fatsia Japonica which is very similar and stays green throughout winter?
I guess that takes the fun out of trying to keep them alive.

Here's mine today, it was cut to the ground in Dec '10. Had many many pups come up & left these 2 to grow on

Fatsia leaves are 30ish cm wide, tetrapanax can grow up to 120cm or more wide!greendragon wrote:Wouldn't it be easier to get a Fatsia Japonica which is very similar and stays green throughout winter?

From the notes I have in my Spreadsheet (how sad is that?!)The Codfather wrote:A quickie....do these like full sun etc.....
T. Rex:
Full Sun / Part Shade, Moist but not waterlogged, Rich soil, Frost-hardy (mulch/fleece to protect in Winter)
and Fatsia (in case you meant that?):
Shade, Fertile soil, Hardy. Dry is OK once established.

Its only the plants I am about to plant out in the garden Coddy, sadly not a range wide enough to actually be useful to others. The Codfather wrote: What a great idea.......post the spreadshhet on here and people can add to it.....if not PM it to me
