Exactly Kristen

But I had to go outside and get my measure just to see what 142cm looked like, and it's enormous  Has it got it's own food supply going directly to the roots

these t.rexes need seperating into different cultivars imho.

the one dave (and bob) has should be giganteum or something.
there is a clear size and leaf shape difference with standard 'rex'

If you want a big Rex, manure the whole border, not the bit around the plant. I have been improving the soil in the bed for 10 years now, so is more like woodland soil than the heavy clay it started off as. Literally been digging the clay out and dumping it every time I plant out

Mine are only tiddlers, one i have put in a huge tub and the other i have planted in the ground behind a raised bed, when it pups it will most likely appear in the neighbours garden, which looks like a tip so.. icon_thumleft

The one in the ground is being munched on by slugs, even tho i have used pellets since feb. My hostas are pretty much untouched so the Rex must taste better

Just been out in the dark and measured. Looks like mine are around 108cms at the moment. Dave's must look fantastic in the flesh! Yes I am still talking leaves!

Dedication, that's what I like to see. icon_thumleft

I can't imagine what these 150cm + across leaves T rexs must look like.

I've also been out in the dark to measure. Not sure I have measured the largest leaf, as I can't reach them all, but the measurement was 141cm, which has slightly beaten the 138cm of last year. I'll have a look in daylight tomorrow

Here is a pic from the weekend.

Mmmmmmmm Mines still pushing out new leaves but they don`t seem to be getting any bigger. They seem to have maxed out at around 800mm for some reason. icon_scratch
