Sell it on eBay? Plenty of big'uns have come up for sale - buyer to dig up etc.

Maybe there isn't enough access to get it out though?

There are too many other plants planted close to it, plus my garden has no access other than through the house... I keep trying to convince my other half that it wont get to the size of the ones on the seafront

Nathan wrote:I regret planting my Phoenix canariensis, as at the time I was renting the house & thought I would dig it up when I moved & I never thought about it getting big. Then we ended up buying the house & now it has sort of taken over the garden, it's not so bad now that it's 'going up' but I have to keep it "pineapple" pruned & it's soon going to cause problems with my Washingtonia as the trunks are close to touching :? My other half wants me to chop it down, which I know would give more room in the garden, but I don't have the heart to do it!

in your recent pics I thought it looked cracking as it was !! very jungly!

I love them, almost orchid looking flowers and a lovely contrasting leaf..beautiful! A lot of natures weeds are quite nice.

One of the neighbours (about 150m away) have field horsetail as a sort of ornamental grass in their pseudo japanese (bull poo) front garden. I just spent part of my afternoon removing its offspring from my own front garden.

Nicandra,

It grows really quickly from seed each year and smothers many plants because it grows so so fast. It self seeds prolifically but looks like I've got rid of them this year.

Nice plants but very poisionous and looks edible/ish.
