deepest shade
deepest shade
i am looking for plants that will grow as ground cover for the most deep of deepest shade
ie
under bushes against a north facing fence on a shady site.
in these dark places i have had some ferns wither away so i am looking for actual first hand experience with deep dark thrivers rather than just a list of shade loving plants from a book.

Ditto.
Re: deepest shade
I have some Pachysandra terminalis growing well in deep shade.
Re: deepest shade
I also have various Chrysosplenium. They like it moist and shady.

Re: deepest shade
What you are describing sounds more like a request for plants that grow in the dark..... plastic ones do best or get a solar light with a remote solar panel.Mr List wrote:i am looking for plants that will grow as ground cover for the most deep of deepest shade

Re: deepest shade
Have you considered Nandina?
Mine is thriving tucked between a North facing and an East facing fence beneath a Trachycarpus in the shadow of the house. It doesn't get much shadier than that.
