After a fleeting 3 day visit to Newquay I'm now shattered from too much driving
Just outside Truro hospital are some nice Phoenix canariensis_CIDP's and chammys on a roundabout, unfortunately I didn't manage to get a video this time
Have to say I do love Phoenix canariensis_CIDP's once they start developing a chunky trunk
Another tropical roundabout Truro

Re: Another tropical roundabout Truro
We don't get much below -5c unless it's a really bad winter. This year has been relatively mild so my bananas, Chamaedoreas, Brugmansia sanguinea etc have come through fine. So far no problems at all.
Re: Another tropical roundabout Truro
That is a nice find, there is a better roundabout between Falmouth and penryn. As we say.........proper lush!
Re: Another tropical roundabout Truro
We only get grotty shrubs and litter on our roundabouts oop norf
Re: Another tropical roundabout Truro
Weymouth HAD a tropical roundabout, CIDPS, Butias, Washy, chamaerops,Yuccas, Agave and Phormiums, then along came the Olympics and it was dug up and replaced with a traffic light junction.
Re: Another tropical roundabout Yeovil
Just been delivering in Yeovil and noticed the council have been planting what looks like Alocasia Macs on the roundabout at the bottom end of Queensway nr McDonalds!!
First tropical Aroids I've ever seen planted in uk council schemes.
Also there was some very strange Canna-esqe looking plants with huge drak green leaves in the centre in huge tubs! I first thought they were Strelitza's!
Unfortunately I couldn't get a pic though.
Has anyone else seen any Alos or Collies in council schemes?

If we ever see an exotic on a roundabout in Wirral I will do a naked cross country run from Liverpool to London.
