Recently bought mine of eBay at 23.95 with free delivery, it can handle loads up to 600lb and has pneumatic tyres, I really rate it after trying various other types. Just search sack truck in eBay, they're still for sale

Also, you might check out "used sack trolley" on Ebay, in your area. I got this one for 99p a couple of days ago for my pots etc.

(Using a bungee to fasten on is something I had not thought crossed my mind. So thanks for that useful bit of info. Thanks).

This is the one I got - £35.30 - bit cheaper than ScrewFix and toe plate sticks out a bit more - but a fold-down toe plate might be better:

Delivery £6.50. I got some ratchet-straps too

thanks Kristen, can you get small ratchet straps i've only ever been able to find crazy long ones for flat bed trucks etc?

I've got loads of bungie cords, but they usually try and take my eyeball out!

Yeah, sorry, I was taking a bit of a liberty calling them "ratchet" straps :)

Webbing straps with metal buckles. The lever part has firm grip and does not come open accidentally (yet!) and the grip on the webbing strap is tenacious. When not lugging pots around the garden I use the sack barrow to lug musical gear worth many £N,000 and the straps haven't let me down yet.

However: threading them is not obvious (seems "backwards" to me) and takes more than just a couple of seconds

Thanks for all advice guys, went for the Screwfix £40 reduced to £30, 250kilo rated, have to say i'm impressed with the build quality, and overall finish, decent ball bearing axles etc,

The chunky tyres are great as they don't dig into the grass when carting a heavy load across
