I keep mine in a pot as a small tree (a bit neglected really ) and get a few flowers from it most years (usually just as we get a bit of wind to blow them off ) as others have said a bad frost will probably kill the budsparkeey wrote:so are these really hard to get to flower,i seen one for sale a large maybe 30litre one with buds on, looks well estalished? just wonder if the buds would make it throught the winter.....

Re: Paulownia tomentosa
I thought the buds formed in early spring, but might be wrong as mine don't form buds.parkeey wrote:so are these really hard to get to flower,i seen one for sale a large maybe 30litre one with buds on, looks well estalished? just wonder if the buds would make it throught the winter.....

Bit late to put this pic up but this was the Paulownia from an upstairs window flowering last May

Re: Paulownia tomentosa
Mine will be cut back in the next week or so. as the leaves go crispy from the ground upward and have been removed to about half way up already. The top gets smashed by gales, so altogether they look very tatty from now on.
Best regards
