This one is in a client's garden .... last year this time, it was in a 9cm pot ... I managed to get 6 pups from this one a few weeks ago .... it's growing fast now, and each new leaf gets larger than the previous leaves:

They do seem to have gone mad in putting on good growth despite the rotten weather.........again!
Mine is in its second year on planting, left in situ and mulched for the Winter. Largest leaf so far is 30 some inches.

TRex is from mountains of Taiwan. and the east side of an ocean is much cooler in winter than the NW side generally, so these babies have evolved with chilly, wet winters. In some years growth and pupping starts here in Feb, not this year though.

Just measured the leaf in the front and it measures 46" or 1.17mtrs! Think my biggest so far, very pleased!

An update on mine. Both doing ok, still small but these plants have been a nemesis to me over the years I've been gardening. There is clearly a variation in the leaf shapes and also in the texture/feel. Do I have one of each of the Cornish grooved and the flat leaved Mighty monster?

What do you guys do to get them going?

I planted 2 at different times and both were eaten by bugs / slugs. Do you grow them on indoors until they reach a certain (pest resistant) size before planting them out?
