this is my schefflera chapana

not a clue with araliceae seeds/berries so do any look viable/ready?

Very interesting........I think a lot of other members here would be interested if they're viable too. :wink:

Going by the seed heads on non-hardy Schefflera, the seeds come out of the seed heads when they are darker and shriveled, so the darker seed heads are almost there. In the UK it would be better to cut off the stalks with darker seed heads and put them in a paper bag and dry them for a few weeks indoors inside a paper bag.

Squash a few berries and look for seeds,assuming it's self-fertile, or you have more than one Schefflera flowering, what you want are dark brown or black coloured seeds when ready for planting. IF no seeds at all, thats too bad.

very hardy.

between chapana (this)
and rhododendrifolia
for the hardiest schefflera imho.

picked three berries and they were just green flesh on the inside, I couldn't find any seeds :(

looking good Ken! I'm eying up a seed swap as my gracilis x taiwanina is at the same stage as yours. Have you picked one of these up yet?
