I haven't planted mine out as I thought it wasn't fully hardy ...
Reading Mr List's blog caused me to look it up and RHS site says hardy (and it has AGM too )

Any reason not to plant mine out now?

Should be hardy - just taken some photos of some blooming in New York where the winters are far more sever than the UK

Thanks Mr L. Wish I'd asked sooner as for some reason I had got it into my head it wasn't fully hardy ... it would have been happier planted out than stuffed in a pot!

There's a large one in my local park, must have been there for decades, absolutely no problems with our winters.
I love those berries with the purple bracts around them, better than the flowers.
Alway's wanted one, where's the best place to buy a decent sized specimen?

I've got one in a pot waiting to be planted in the new garden. Its been fine the last two winters outside so I would consider it hardy for our part of the world. Get it planted out
