maybe it's too mild for hellebore flower initiation - maybe they require some form of hardish frost for early flowering.. my only explanation since everything else is doing well

This can't be right surely, apple/cherry blossom?

Not only that its at the farm, in a natural valley, so no microclimate going on.

It looks like Winter flowering Cherry (Prunus autumnalis) which flower from Novemberish to March-ish.

My Hellebore are flowering and the last 2 weeks of November were frosty, so you could be correct Stephen.

Just had a proper check of my plants to see what is growing. So far i have.

Clematis
honeysuckle
peony
Trachycapus Fortunei (very slowly)
Echium Pinianna
rose nodes opening.

Not plant related, since reading the post on gardeners world about a possible early spring and signs of wildlife, i can say i to have seen a blue tit this morning and black bird. On the back one of the echium leaves i found a harlequin ladybird with another ladybird by its side but that was not a harlequin.
