The Long Walk

Sorry - very pretentious name :)
AAB_4462_LongWalk_Apr2009.jpg
Apr 2009 - Mowed a line down the middle of the plot
AAB_7272_LongWalk_Oct2010.jpg
Oct 2010 - Decided that more "off to the right" would be better, mowed where hedges would be to get a feel for "width" etc.
AAB_8747_LongWalk_Mar2011.jpg
Mar 2011 - Hornbeam planted
IMG_7067_LongWalk_Aug2013.jpg
Aug 2013 - growing really well :)

Really impressive changes guys. Some great pics.
Great thread btw icon_thumleft

When I get the PC out I will post some before and after shots of the garden I've just left.

The new garden won't be touched yet as I'm too snowed under indoors but hopefully I can add something later on.

Its has more of a clump towards the end of the season if I forget to manage the pups, but prefer the single large stemmed look, so actively lop the pups back a couple of times throughout peak season icon_salut

Some great improvements Guys icon_thumright

Some really serious planting there Kristen, but as has already been said it's more like a park icon_thumright

I found height was the most difficult thing to achieve, so fast growing native trees were used like Purple Hazel, and self sown Elderberry.
Best regards
Dave
