Regarding the link to Parker's

Bamboo is often labelled incorrectly, even from the big companies.
I think that could be Fargesia jiuzhaigou.

these bamboos don't grow that tall in my garden, about 4-5 foot in the ground and only 3 in pots
Good idea - about 50cm depth, 25cm height and width as long as the run?
if a hedge I'd go more like 1m back,1m down and the full length

I'll probably go as far down as the llaylandi roots will let me :lol: Free top soil and cheap scaffold boards sourced, just need a couple of dry weekends to get it started!
