paulownia cuttings

I was given a seedling Paulownia. Wanting huge leaves I would only allow two stems to grow each year and cut it back to about 18 inches tall each winter. This way it grew very quickly making about 10ft tall in a season!
Having a small garden, it was in the wrong place so in a panic (drains) I removed it last year. I just need a larger garden.
