Pseudopanax 'Fiddlesticks'
Now that's a really cool plant, a bit like crassifolius but upside-down. Anyone has it or is it still not available in northern hemisphere?

Re: Pseudopanax 'Fiddlesticks'
think this one would be best as a container plant to keep it small
Re: Pseudopanax 'Fiddlesticks'

Re: Pseudopanax 'Fiddlesticks'
I wonder what adult form looks like. And will any nursery bring it to Europe in near future?
Re: Pseudopanax 'Fiddlesticks'
There may be someone in Europe growing it somewhere its just locating the supplier.
Re: Pseudopanax 'Fiddlesticks'
Have you tried RHS plant finder? I wonder if I could get hold of seeds.countrylover wrote:Google shows only NZ suppliers
Re: Pseudopanax 'Fiddlesticks'
RHS I must try.
Seeds? That's too slow for me. I am too old to wait. Wanna have a big plant now!!!

Re: Pseudopanax 'Fiddlesticks'
Looks like a long trunk with a particularly unremarkable mop on the top, when mature. Whereas it is the juvenile foliage which is "bizarre" (I think because its juvenile foliage is inedible, or unattaractive, to foaraging animals in the wild).fern Rob wrote:I like to see plants growing to there full size sometimes.
Having said that it will probably do 20' or more in juvenile clothing - they've got some (P. ferox I think) pretty much that tall at Urban Jungle - dunno how they get them through (most!) winters

They are very interesting plants. If I planted one in the ground i think i would mix plenty of sand.
