Importing palms

Post by benbaron »

Hi all,

anybody got any experience with importing any palms - specifically looking for a Chammy of a decent size but not stupidly priced which they all seem to be in the UK.

Cheers
Ben

If its from another EU country its doable, you may find the carriage dear, and do bear in mind if its coming by road it may have pass through regions with less favourable climates than the nursery you buy from, there are a lot of nurseries in Italy that do supply to the UK, not sure if they would be interested in a single plant though

Used to buy quite big from Holland market and growers. They wont do small orders. You could ask local flower wholesaler to get you a palm or two from the market maybe.Much cheaper and the transport wont crucify you either, goodluck.
