The one that got away

Post by dino »

Towards the end of last summer a biggish single trunked Chammy appeared in my local Homebase that was bigger in every way than the others they had. Everytime I went in I admired it and wanted it. I waited in the hope that it would get reduced and sure enough it did from £100 to £50. Typically I didn't have any money or plastic with me and when I went back it had gone. I still think about it now. What have others missed out on and regretted ever since?

Oh yes, I've kicked myself in the pants many times.
On one such occasion, I saw a nice Chamaerops 'Cerifera' with the main trunk of about 60cm surrounded by sucker trunks of 30cm, all in proportion. A beautiful palm but at £250 it was worth consideration, deliberation and financial justification.
The following week I returned to the nursery to find the palm had sold............due to the sale.....20% off! D'oh!
