Nice pictures Charlie! I particularly like the yellow bamboo and I hope to be adding one to the garden here next year or later this year.

BTW I look forward to seeing you again at the Kingston Bagpuize plant fair this Sunday. I’d like a climber for a semi-shade west facing fence, that would hopefully be evergreen and cover an area of 2m x 6m.

Well we like it that way obviously! but I can't help admiring those that go for a "Look" whether it be Japanese style or full blown exotic like Will Giles, but its a lot harder work than just sticking to what wants to grow. Here I am afraid Clematis and roses are allowed to clamber over palms and bamboos But I love the evergreen shapes of the palms all winter when they have been cleared and the Bamboo gives height quickly but doesn't keep going up like a tree would
