At Lidl from today (14th June 18) are some really nice Canary Island Date Palms. They're advertised as 150cm in a 24cm pot, but mine was 130+cm so not quite 150cm. I don't mind as it's a nice specimen and looks healthy.
If anyone else is interested I'd get one quick as they won't last long. The price is £17 which I don't think is bad at all.

Be careful of buying by height. Diameter of the trunk shows age, rather than length of leaves. My preference would be a short chunky one.
Best regards

Ditto to this - a tall slender one will be etiolated (grown in low light levels), weak and poor quality.Dave Brown wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 6:49 am Be careful of buying by height. Diameter of the trunk shows age, rather than length of leaves. My preference would be a short chunky one.
