Hi all,
Just started preparing for winter frosts. Any ideas what to do for larger Washintonia fronds ?
I was thinking about a combination of a fishing umbrella, scofolding pole and fleece, but I’m a little worried about the wind.
I managed to cover a 5m tree as the frond growth is limited after a move this year, but need another solution for another tree with better growth this year. I don’t want to lose any of this years growth over winter.
Thx Bob

It can get to -1 or -4.

I think Dave Brown has had he most success/experience on here. Look in the exotics section under palms, first post.

this is what I did 5 years ago
They have grown quite a bit, so protection will be a bit of a problem now. 3,5 m trunk makes the whole palm now around 5 m high
