planting of Hedychium gingers

Anybody got any advicon how the roots of these should be planted. ie below soil and at what depth or with upper most part proud of soil.Many thanks

Not critical but I always submerge all the root system as they quickly mound up above ground level at which point they are vulnerable to hard frost events (although they always come back from deeper down)

Agree with Charlie. Mine tend to 'surface' but in my mild and sheltered site they are never damaged and after a few years I divide and submerge them.
