Need some advice about a bird!

My question is about my Strelitzia Nicolai.

I have a Nicolai that has gone mental since the day I bought it about one and a half years ago. It's now roughly 8.5 to 9 feet tall but it's still in it's original 25cm pot!
Any of you folks have any tips for re potting it? Mainly what's a good soil for them and how big do I go on the new pot?
