Re: The Pond
Wow Mel, it's coming on really well! Have only just caught up and it's progressed so much. I love the idea for the fireplace, sounds really cool! Great to see you getting 'stuck in' too
We've just been visiting some gardens in a local village today and one of them had a really nifty garden hut type thing. Very cosy indeed and there's a BBQ in the middle (with chimney), and they'd also installed a TV and speakers and stuff. I'd be happy to live in one of those
Have just found the website for them, although no indication of prices
Keep us posted!

Re: The Pond
Glad it's growing well for you Darren it will get a big plant.
Thanks everyone, it's been hard work but it's getting there, still a fare way to go with the new bit, might not be done till next year but it will be worth the wait.
We have just got some more plants for the pond which should help to clear the water, still do with some more but getting there.
Pete, thanks for the link, I did see one of those on TV, they look quite good.
I'll post some more pic's soon.

Re: The Pond
Yes Andrew, there's a quite a few cacti and succulents that can be grown outside all year round. Some without any protection but you'll get much better results if you put a rain shelter over them.AndrewBird wrote:Can you grow a cactus outside all of the time
This Opuntia is never protected, even came through last winter with no problems. Would hate to loose this lot so they get a shelter Cover off Melissa

Re: The Pond
Glad it's doing so well for you. It's a good grower
The pads that I had left over are still waiting to be potted up but they are also growing new pads.

Re: The Pond
it will soon look like a big one i bought off barry from ebay.i called it ol' big ears.it didnt stay here long as deb didnt like the idea of the cat getting stuck on it . this one is different however because you gave it to her. it will probably go under the butia out the front as that is full of stones and really well drained
