shinning, great weekend to come. The feel good factor is back, remember a few months ago with that bad weather and this is all we could think about to keep us going. I wanna see some nice garden pics with lush planting. I spent the day building a raised wall and some raised beds and some seating but its coming up with some nice ideas for planting. Please don't be shy I wanna see pics of your garden and don't worry if you have posted before because I never get tired of pics and am always picking up an idea here and there .

Lucien...Is the bannana leaved plant a strelitzia <spelling>..And also chalk brow..in the pot....or is that the travellers palm?????I grabed a strelitzia for 4 quid today,very,very small.Great summer shots b.t.w.

Robin - in the pot: yes, Strelitzia nicolai (and sounds as if you got a bargain too!)

Yep Strelitzia nicolai, grown from seed spring 2003. I had 3, but am down to two now.

I think I have posted some of these or similar before. What is very different this year is the crystal clear blues skies rather than the milky white we normally have. These are from a range of dates, as indicated on the pic.

Lucien, If thats behind compared to last year, last year must have been something . That pergola is fantastic, I would love to take a stroll under there. I can also make out a climbing plant against the wall, what is it?

Robin, got some new angles and views I did not notice in your last pics such as the two tier levels on the lawn. It looks fab and I want to do something similar at the back of my garden. You have some great looking palms too. I also love the way the trees form a natural archway as you come out to the garden

Yep, Canna and Gingers etc are only just making a move, it'll soon lush up a bit, with a bit of colour.

I built the pergola the same time as the deck, it felt massively over scale at the time and dominated the garden, but with the wisteria now covering it, and the rest of the garden now a jungle rather than lawn, it all fits in well together.

I'm not sure which climbing plant you mean ? Which photo is it in ?
