Until about a year ago I had Norwich down as a chilly place near the North Sea, but yours, Melissa's and Will Giles' gardens really show how good a climate you have.

Melissa, your pond area looks absolutely fantastic, and your garden was fantastic when we visited last year, when the pond was just a hole Really looking forward to our visit this year

Really smashing gardens there and love looking at everyones piece of paradise.
It's hard to imagine we were all complaining about the exceptionally low temperatures just a few weeks back, thinking we might have huge losses, and look at them now. Winter just never seemed to have happened.

Mels garden is fab, it always makes me jealous. This year they have surpassed themselves with the pond. I wish I could be there, it would be one of the first areas I would love to see, that and the tree ferns. Wanna see lots of pics from the meet i guess. Echo what Dave said about the gardens in Norwich, there are some real stunners I doubt its the topography, just fab gardeners

Across the fence is passion flower (the common white hardy one).

In front of the garage is not a climber, but Lavatera Arborea variegata. Got it from CGF spring 2008. It has grown well.

I can send you seeds from either later in the season if you want.

Its a new one to me. Just googled it and it looks fantastic! If I can't source one off the net I may take you up on that offer! very kind. Going to do more reading as to what aspect it likes, size and spread etc. See...I am picking up good ideas, I knew I would. Added bonus is the pics!

Well it's in a dry bed, only 45cm deep, virtually never watered, and went from 2 foot to 8-9 foot in a year. It's in flower now, and watching every day for seed (hopefully as easy to harvest as the more common ones).

Thanks Dave and Mo, the pond is settling in nicely now, still lots to do down the far end, don't think that will be finished until next year.
